Partera International is looking to add new Members to our Board of Directors.
We are looking for people with an interest in working with an organisation doing conflict analysis and non-violence, peacemaking and training in zones of conflict. We have been doing this work for over 25 years and, five years ago, created some structure around it and called it Partera.
Our staff and volunteers are doing amazing work with partners around the world. We are at the point where the annual requests for assistance outstrip our capacity to respond. And so we are doing something about that. One of the ways in which we are going to expand that capacity is to enlarge our board. We are looking to enhance our collective toolbox in the areas of fundraising, marketing, social media, and graphic design, photography and videography.
The board of directors meets once a month for two hours by skype and twice a year for two days in person. Board members will support creative and strategic thinking/ planning, implementation of fundraising campaigns, evaluation and monitoring of the work. We borrow the image of the Human Knot exercise (Sudan) to illustrate our idea of Board: cooperation and collaboration, shifting perspectives, diversity and leadership.
If you would like to help make a difference in the world, adding your skills to this board, while learning about the skills of experiential learning, popular education and conflict transformation, conflict analysis and reduction, mediation and third-party non-violent intervention, please message LeeAnn McKenna. We will be interviewing candidates in mid-April. Think about it!
